Inspiration has no gender, denomination, or political affiliation. So it is not exclusive to any group. It simply requires open mindedness, discipline, and determination. I’ve found that open-mindedness and determination require the belief that there is something in you worth sharing with the world, and it does not matter how large or small your world is.
Discipline is a three-tiered obstacle that requires the development of a certain tool to conquer each tier:
Tool number 1: Resolve – Make the decision to go in a certain direction and don’t allow your financial, mental, or emotional situation determine your outcome. Once you make the decision to pursue your dream, you will be surprised at how many doors will open for you, and how many people want to see you succeed.
Tool number 2: Restraint – Respect yourself enough to tell yourself the truth, in Time, Talents, and Treasure
a. Time – “How much time can I truly put into this project right now.”
b. Talent – “Do I really know all I need to know about this endeavor?” The answer should always be a resounding “no.” You can always learn something new or something more.
c. Treasure – “How much can I invest right now? Do I need to save or what am I willing to sacrifice in the present moment to pursue my purpose?”
Tool number 3: Results – there should always be an expectation and evaluation of results. Occasionally pause to ask yourself, what is your personal level of satisfaction with your current condition?
Finally, dont give up, because there is always a solution and its always ok to do other things while you wait for the answer. You may find that the answer to that question doesn’t even matter. Be the boss of yourself.
